It all started when...

I first got involved with a branch of Young Life called Asian Young Life after my freshman year of high school. My mom signed me up to volunteer at Capernaum camp, a camp specifically designed for kids with disabilities, and to attend traditional Young Life camp over the summer. During that summer, I got to know my Young Life leader who was also a teacher at my school. That following school year I would spend every lunch period with him in his classroom to learn more about him, Young Life and Jesus.

The summer after my junior year, I volunteered again at Capernaum camp. There, I realized I was serving people for praise instead of God. I gave my life to Christ realizing I wanted to serve simply because Jesus is Lord. From that point on, I found my true purpose in loving God and loving people. My senior year I decided to gain some independence by attending college in Seattle, WA, far away from my home in New Jersey.

My senior year at the University of Washington, I became a volunteer Young Life leader in NW Seattle. I loved being able to positively impact the lives of kids. After 4 years as a volunteer leader, I felt called to quit my job to do full time Young Life and lead at Newport High School in Bellevue, WA.
